62 Georgia Women’s Alcohol and Drug Rehab Centers

Women often feel pressure to be all things to their family and those around them. The stress from trying to fill all of these roles can often lead to substance abuse and addiction. Fortunately, Georgia offers several treatment programs that focus on the needs and recovery of women to ensure everyone gets the help that they need.
From being supermom to a leader at work to the shoulder that everybody in the family cries on, there are so many standards for women to live up to in today’s world. When substance abuse comes into the picture, it can turn a woman’s life upside down and crush her self-worth. It can be difficult for a woman to accept that she has an addiction problem, but it is the necessary first step to recover from it.
In Georgia, more than 41 percent of women were in treatment for substance abuse in 2013, according to a survey conducted by the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration. Of the more than 8,000 people in treatment for alcohol use, about 36 percent were women. Of the more than 3,000 patients in treatment for cocaine, women made up about 46 percent.
