Methamphetamine and opioids are significant issues all over Wisconsin, and Sturgeon Bay is no exception. Cocaine and marijuana were also among the drugs seized by Door County police in 2018.
One of the first drug arrests of the year was in February when 10 people from Sturgeon Bay and Egg Harbor were apprehended for trafficking heroin, marijuana, methamphetamine, and prescription narcotics. Other 2018 Sturgeon Bay cases include:
- Three people arrested for possession with intent to deliver 40 g of methamphetamine (October)
- 29 g of methamphetamine found in a man’s vehicle during a traffic stop (September)
- A woman charged with manufacturing designer drugs, possession of cocaine and LSD, and suspected to be part of a major drug-trafficking ring in Door and Kewaunee Counties (September)
- Two men arrested for possession with intent to deliver cocaine and marijuana (June)
- A man with $7,000 worth of fentanyl in his vehicle (March)

The high rate of drug trafficking in Sturgeon Bay in recent years may lead some people to leave town for treatment.
