Heyburn is located in the southern most portion of Idaho. With just short of 3,100 residents, the city occupies just under 2.75 square miles and is supported primarily by agriculture and local factories, one of which produces yogurt. Between the Chobani yogurt factory and the extensive potato industry, much of the local economy relies on agriculture for its financial stability.
Airport Information
Heyburn, Idaho is located a few miles north of the town of Burley. Burley Municipal Airport is closest to Heyburn and serves the surrounding areas. Hazelton Municipal Airport and Mason are several miles to the west, but still close enough to be cost effective for residents of Heyburn and relatives who choose to visit the area. The majority of airports in the general vicinity are rather small and deal primarily with commuter traffic. Even though the airstrips are small, they provide sufficient means for individuals who are visiting the area to help family members who have entered into drug and rehab facilities for treatment.
Weather
Located towards the south end of the state, Heyburn is north of the Albion Mountain Range. The weather for the area is generally mild with summer temps ranging from 55 degrees during the night to 90 degrees during the day. In the winter, temperatures fluctuate between 20 degrees at night and 35 during the day time hours. Snowfall during the winter months can average as much as 10 inches per day with much higher amounts falling near the mountains to the south. Average precipitation stays close to an inch or more per month throughout the entire year.

The Tops Motel and the Super 8 Heyburn/Burley are both located in close proximity to Heyburn. While they are two main motels in the area, there are other motels located in and around Burley that are also affordable. Individuals who are visiting friends or family members that are undergoing treatment at the local rehabilitation center have the option to stay for extended periods of time at each of the local motels.
Employment
Because of the potato and other agricultural enterprises, there are several job opportunities available. Both seasonal and long term employment opportunities are readily available and can be beneficial for individuals who need to support themselves while visiting family members who are undergoing treatment.
