An hour north of Denver and just east of Rocky Mountain National Park is the small town of Windsor. Just over 18,000 people call Windsor home, and the population continues to grow year after year. In fact, the low cost of living, low crime rate and many different community amenities earned the town the number one spot in a study of “Best Cities to Live in Colorado.”

Windsor’s location just off Interstate 25, Windsor is a quick one-hour drive from the Denver International Airport. The local climate varies throughout the year, with average lows sinking to approximate 15 degrees Fahrenheit in January and average highs reaching 86 degrees in July. Several inches of rain fall during the warmer months of the year, but the locals find that snowfall is much more precipitous. In an average year, Windsor sees nearly 4 feet of snow.
Lodging in Windsor is limited to a Super 8 located on Main Street, where patrons receive a bevy of free amenities, including free WiFi, free parking, and a free 8-item breakfast. Not far away in the neighboring town of Loveland, additional hotel options are available. The Embassy Suites Loveland is a hotel and convention center with an attached spa, indoor pool and hot tub. This hotel is ideal for families traveling together, as suites are available to sleep more than four per room. The Embassy also provides a complimentary evening reception, cooked-to-order breakfast, and access to an onsite restaurant.
If you plan to stay in Windsor after you have completed treatment, finding work will probably be a top priority. There are plenty of employers in the area, including a Wal-Mart Supercenter and a Wal-Mart distribution center south of town. The area is served by several medical providers, including the Poudre Valley Health System. Additional job opportunities may be found 10 minutes away along the I-25 corridor, where there are multiple restaurants, retailers, and even an outlet mall.
