New Hampshire Drug Detox Centers

Located in the heart of New England, New Hampshire is known for its charming towns and beautiful change of color in the fall. While visitors flock to this state year-round to enjoy the great outdoors, the residents are dealing with a rising drug overdose mortality rate. New Hampshire ranks 26th nationwide when it comes to fatal drug overdoses.
The most recent data shows that 11.8 of every 100,000 drug overdoses in New Hampshire results in death — a number that has more than doubled since 1999. At that time, the rate was 4.6 deaths for every 100,000 overdoses. Researchers note that the majority of fatal drug overdoses are related to prescription drugs.
Given the steep rise in fatal drug overdoses related to prescription drugs, the New Hampshire government is attempting to reverse the trend. In 2012, a law was created in the state that created a controlled drug prescription health and safety program. In 2013, the state government created a committee with the purpose of investigating the use and subsequent misuse of prescription drugs in workers compensation situations.
